Dana Linnell Wanzer

Dana Linnell Wanzer holds a Master’s degree in positive developmental psychology and is pursuing her PhD in evaluation and applied research methods. She previously earned Bachelor’s degrees in music education and psychology at California State University, Fullerton.

Dana is the current lab manager for YD Eval and project manager for both the After-School All-Stars, Los Angeles (ASAS-LA) and Montebello Unified School District (MUSD) Extended Learning Opportunities evaluations. She joined YD Eval to help youth programs improve through program evaluation and continuous quality improvement efforts. In improve use and influence of evaluation, she has brought an emphasis of effective data visualization and report formatting to her projects and the rest of YD Eval. She also brings an advanced understanding of quantitative data analysis and survey methodology to YD Eval.

Outside of YD Eval, Dana conducts research on evaluation, including examining how evaluators adjust their evaluations to be developmentally appropriate, how political situations affect evaluation, effective data visualization principles in evaluation, and how evaluators can serve as the bridge between researchers and practitioners. She also works as an evaluation and statistics consultant, currently working with a firm that specializes in evaluations of computer science education programs. She has also conducted numerous evaluations of college access programs in the past.
