William Carcamo

William Carcamo is a former Masters student in Positive Developmental Psychology and Evaluation at Claremont Graduate University. He previously earned his B.A. in Psychology from Biola University. He came to CGU for their unique approach in studying human flourishing through the lens of positive and developmental psychology. Overall, William is passionate about working alongside others whose vision is to use research and evaluation to engage and best serve their local communities. He is excited to be graduating this upcoming May 2018.

William was attracted to join YD Eval for “bridging the gap” between research and practice through evaluation. He was involved on two projects, After-School All-Stars, Los Angeles (ASAS-LA) and Montebello Unified School District (MUSD) Extended Learning Opportunities. Both projects involve looking into how after-school programs can best serve their youth and provide the greatest positive context for them to flourish academically and socially.

Using the knowledge and experience gained from YD Eval, William also provided evaluation support for a sports-based youth development program (Up2Us Sports) that trains young adults to be positive coaches and mentors for kids in low income communities.
